Chinatown RisingÌýblends powerful archival footage with personal narrative to tell the untold stories of San Francisco’s Chinatown during the civil rights movement. Co-directed by Joshua Chuck, the film captures the spirit of grassroots activism, cultural identity, and the ongoing struggle for equity—stories that still resonate deeply today. Following the screening, we’re honored to welcome Joshua ChuckÌýfor a live conversation and Q&A.

Joshua Chuck, Co-Director & Producer
Born and raised in San Francisco’s Chinatown, Josh has spent over 25 years working in and for his community—as a youth worker, filmmaker, and fundraiser. His storytelling work focuses on amplifying the voices of underserved communities across the city. He currently leads the UPS Community Internship in San Francisco, a hands-on immersion program for company leadership, andÌýChinatown RisingÌýmarks his feature film debut.
