Bio: 
BernNadette Best-Green, Ph.D. is a Full Professor of Education & English and the former Faculty Coordinator for the Student Experience Pilot Program at 杏吧视频. BernNadette is a seasoned practitioner researcher & ardent teacher educator who is passionate about supporting educators to improve teaching & learning within their own classrooms through teacher-research (Cochran-Smith & Lytle, 1993). At Delta College, Dr. Best-Green also coordinates the Faculty Equity Training Academy where she teaches a two-semester course that teaches professors to 1) research, 2) design, 3) execute, & 4) evaluate practitioner inquiry projects designed to improve educational outcomes for historically marginalized & disproportionately-impacted students.

Dr. Best-Green is also a published author and former K-12 educator (teacher, administrator, program coordinator) & practitioner researcher of culturally diverse African American, Asian American, & Latinx elementary & middle school students in Northern California. Her scholarships bridges the gap between theory & research involving classroom practice that improves language education for ethnolinguistically minoritized & multidialectal students whose linguistic dexterity & plurality enable them to blend & alternate between the standard & nonstandard 鈥淓nglishes鈥 within their linguistic repertoires in creative, dynamic, & expansive ways.

Dr. Best-Green鈥檚 extensive & specialized doctoral preparation included 5 years of service to the UCD School of Education (as the instructor of courses for undergraduate & graduate students & teacher credential candidates), a three-year UCD Teacher Educator-Scholar Fellowship, & a year-long UCD Professors For The Future (PFFT) Fellowship. She is also an alumna of the Los Rios Community College District鈥檚 Faculty Development Internship Program. Dr. Best-Green earned a B.A. in Sociology at UC Berkeley, an M.A. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies at CSU Sacramento, an M.A. in English from National University, & a Ph.D. in Education: Language, Literacy, & Culture at UC Davis. Dr. Best-Green also holds current teacher & school administrator credentials through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

BernNadette resides in Stockton, CA with her husband & children. Through her membership & affiliation with several local organizations, she engages in community service efforts that offer clothing & meals to unhoused youth & adults, & that provide mentorship & scholarships while promoting higher education among youth & young adults from underrepresented backgrounds.
