Our Agriculture programs prepare you for a diverse industry made up of many sectors. Agriculture offerings at Delta include Agriculture Business, Horticulture, Plant Science, Animal Husbandry, and Agriculture Mechanics and Engineering. You’ll gain entry-level employment skills, obtain certificates in specific agriculture studies, earn associateÌýdegrees, and complete coursework that will satisfy university transfer requirements. What makes the agriculture major unique is its engaging, hands-on focus, which is the cornerstone of coursework and laboratories offered in this path of study.

The agriculture program provides many opportunities for you to get involved utilizing the various facilities including a botanical demonstration garden, retail nursery, two state-of-the-art greenhouses, newly modernized plant science laboratory, and the college’s 160-acre farm in Manteca complete with crop production and livestock facilities.
Additional activities give you the opportunity to travel, compete, network, and learn about segments of the agriculture industry through: Collegiate Agriculture Leaders Competition and Leadership Conferences, Livestock Judging Team, Livestock Show Team, SJDC Horticulture Club, industry-related tours and field trips, student recruitment efforts, community service, agriculture education activities, and internships.
